Farooq M. Ahmadzai

Farooq M. Ahmadzai - Principal

Farooq has over 35 years of experience in design, engineering planning, project management and construction. His representative work includes the design of fire alarm, HVAC, fire suppression and power distribution systems for educational facilities, office buildings, data centers, religious facilities, healthcare facilities, healthcare facilities, pharmaceutical facilities, residence halls and other commercial and institutional buildings.

Farooq continues to do detailed code research to improve the company’s knowledge of applicable codes and perform research on new, more energy efficient technologies to enhance our industry. His broad knowledge of various codes and more than three decades of experience in the field has made him a leader and mentor, not only within PEG but also throughout the industry as well.

Farooq started with PEG in the early 1980’s as an electrical and plumbing designer. Within a few years, Farooq ascended to the position of Senior Project Engineer and eventually, Project Manager. During the 1990’s, Farooq was named Vice President of PEG while continuing to serve in the roles of Project Manager and Senior Project Engineer for many projects. In 2008 he became President of PEG. As President, he oversees all aspects of PEG’s operations. Under Farooq’s leadership, PEG continues to be at the forefront of MEP and Fire Protection Engineering consulting firms in the Washington metropolitan area. In addition to performing his duties as President, Farooq wears many other hats including Principal-in-Charge of Quality Control, Senior Electrical Engineer and occasionally as Project Manager. He works diligently to ensure that all of PEG’s projects are executed with the highest quality of standards. He still is very involved in the electrical, plumbing and fire protection design concepts on a number of our projects and often oversees the design of life safety systems, lighting systems, power distribution and plumbing systems.
Chad E. Sullivan

Chad E. Sullivan - Associate Principal

Chad has over 12 years of experience as an engineer in the HVAC and mechanical consulting industry. His representative work includes the design of mechanical systems for mixed-use office buildings, tenant fit-outs, hotels, laboratories, restaurants and educational facilities. Chad has designed HVAC systems for both LEED Gold and Silver Certified projects and is a proficient energy modeler with IES-VE modeling software.

Upon graduation, Chad began his career in Massachusetts at an MEP consulting firm as a mechanical designer. Over the years, he has increased his exposure with a wide variety of engineering projects and has steadily assumed more responsibilities as a design engineer and energy modeler and eventually as a project manager. His current responsibilities with PEG include due diligence studies, mechanical engineering design, energy modeling, trade coordination and project management.
Gheorghe Voiebuna

Gheorghe Voiebuna - Associate Principal

George Voiebuna joined PEG in 2001 and has more than 27 years of experience in the electrical engineering field, both as an electrician and as an electrical engineer. His representative work includes project management and design of electrical systems for schools, community centers, religious facilities, restaurants, tenant fit-outs and other commercial, residential and corporate building projects.

Since joining PEG, George has worked his way up in the company from Project Engineer to Senior Electrical Engineer, Project Manager and currently Associate Principal. George also serves as Senior Electrical Engineer on his projects as well as other PEG projects. Additionally, he oversees the electrical department design team to ensure the highest standard of electrical design work. His commitment to continuous training and education in the electrical field has led him to develop a highly skilled team of designers.

George has been instrumental in the design of the electrical engineering systems for many of PEG’s most demanding assignments. His creative solutions and broad base of knowledge acquired over more than two decades has enabled PEG to take on the most challenging projects.
Boris Jovanovic

Boris Jovanovic - Mechanical Engineer

Boris Jovanovic joined PEG in 2016 and has 18 years of experience in building-related engineering design and planning.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer for PEG, Boris’ responsibilities include all associated project engineering design coordination with architects and in-house staff coordination of mechanical, electrical and plumbing disciplines. His responsibilities also include building model energy simulations and HVAC design including building central cooling and heating plants, variable air volume central air systems, specialty exhaust systems, geothermal systems and sustainable HVAC systems.

Gad Larar - Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager

Gad has over 12 years of experience as an engineer in the HVAC and mechanical consulting industry. His representative work includes design of mechanical systems for mixed-use office buildings, tenant fit-outs, hotels, laboratories, restaurants and educational facilities. Norier Vartanian - Project Manager

Norier has over 30 years of experience as a building-related mechanical engineer. His representative work includes the design of mechanical systems of religious facilities, public and private schools, commercial office and mixed-use buildings, recreational facilities, hotels and restaurants.

Hansen Bong

Hansen Bong - Mechanical Engineer

Hansen Bong joined PEG in 2016 and has 19 years of experience in building-related engineering design and planning. His representative work includes design of mechanical systems for public/private school, libraries, campuses, religious facilities, healthcare facilities, museums, historical renovations and commercial office / mixed-use buildings.

Paul J. Uth

Paul J. Uth - Director of Financial and Business Operations

Paul has over 30 years of experience in business management with an emphasis in accounting. He is skilled in all standard accounting functions as well as financial analysis, forecasting, human resource operations, implementation of policies, developing business strategies and the general organizing of all business development and operations.

While attending college and upon graduation, Paul worked for a company that operated academic daycare centers throughout the Washington metropolitan area. He then went to work as an Assistant Controller for a local developer and later became a Commercial Property Manager, followed by serving as Controller for a local court reporting firm. He also went back to school while working to pursue a second degree in Business Management with a concentration on Accounting. His most recent position prior to joining PEG was as the Accounting Manager for a tax collections company.

Paul joined Potomac Energy Group in 2006 in his role as Accounting Manager. Over the past few years, Paul has steadily increased his responsibilities and has recently been named PEG’s Director of Financial and Business Operations. In this capacity, he works closely with the Principals and other members of the management team to ensure a smooth and well-run operation in respect to all business-related functions.

His current responsibilities include all financial processing, reporting and forecasting; supervising all human resource functions; ensuring compliance in connection with contractual agreements; working with management to make optimum use of all resources; and developing and refining all aspects of the business operations for PEG. His unique ability to see the “big picture” and his skills in accounting, writing and organizing have all led to his increased role with PEG. Paul’s diligence, reliability and hard work have made him an important contributor to PEG’s success over the past four years.
